Textile art — bogolan
Fatoumata
Fatoumata
Coulibaly
She carries bogolan — cloth dyed with fermented mud — into contemporary graphic compositions.

Biography
« River mud holds memory. I only ask it to speak differently. »
Born into a family of dyers from Ségou, Fatoumata Coulibaly learned bogolan from her mother before studying fine art in Bamako.
She keeps the ancestral gestures — spinning, weaving, plant decoctions, river mud — yet invents monumental compositions in which pattern becomes architecture.
